For the past thirty years, we have offered wonderful relaxing, get-away-from-it-all, three-night breaks in the picturesque surroundings of the Pewsey Vale.
Join us, anytime, on a Friday or Tuesday afternoon and stay in a caravan overnight. On your first morning, you will receive full training; and you’ll be accompanied to your lunchtime stop. The route then involves both lunchtime and overnight stops at local hostelries, and a groom is always available to assist you when driving.
There will be time to walk on the magnificent downland, which includes a National Nature Reserve (rich in rare flora). Or perhaps you might choose to visit one of the many local ancient sites that we have here in Wiltshire (such as Avebury henge and stone circles).
Previous experience with horses is helpful, but not essential; as our horses are quiet, friendly, and experienced.
All bedding is provided. In fact, simple cooking can be done on either a Calor gas cooker (in the caravan itself), or on an open fire in the meadows, where you stay (landowner permitting), or meals can be purchased at each stop.
We always recommend you bring wet weather clothing and wellies; however, one set of waterproofs is available for the driver.
We ask that you are prepared to walk, sometimes, to help the horse on uphill pulls, so you need to be reasonably active. We also feel that this holiday is not suitable for children under five, unless accompanied by an older child or extra adult.
It really is a wonderful break, something different; experiencing a little of the gypsy way of life, a total antidote to stress, and a great family outing.
